From March 24 - 27, 2025, the OFF brought together leading orthopedic minds for a must-see cinematic experience. Short surgical videos were evaluated by a jury of peers, with winners earning international recognition, joining an elite group of past champions, and taking home prestigious cash prizes.

The Orthopedic Film Festival is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the latest advancements in orthopedics, from surgical techniques and diagnostic tips to rehabilitation strategies and conservative treatments. Showcase your best tip, trick, or technique—whether in the operating theatre or the clinic—on the big screen for an audience of global peers.  

The OFF 2026 is a must-see cinematic event that takes place from March 23 - 26 2026, where your short, surgical videos will be evaluated by a jury of peers. The winner of each category will earn international recognition, join an elite group of past champions, and take home a prestigious cash prize.

Award Voting - How it Works:
All awards are determined by the viewers. Following each session, viewers will rate each video on a scale from 1 to 10 based on its scientific value, educational value, and technical aspects. At the conclusion of each evening, the video with the highest average rating will receive the Best Video Award. Entries in the Next Generation or Best Industry Contribution categories from all three days will be compared based on this score. Additionally, videos in the Best Film Production category will be evaluated on camera work, imagery selection, creativity, and innovation in filmmaking through a separate scoring process. The winners of each special category award will be announced on Thursday, March 26th, at 8:45 pm CET.

Research enthusiasts watch out! With our brand-new Winglet Journal Club in cooperation with the German Young Forum O and U, we offer a unique digital format for the critical appraisal and discussion of the most recent scientific publications in the field of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery.

Under the scientific guidance of Antonia Donat and selected members from the Young Forum, some of the latest, most significant research papers are chosen and structurally summarized in a standardized video format. Always on a Monday, we invite you to participate in a captivating, live virtual discussion with international colleagues of varying seniority.

Following the idea "First the facts - then the discussion", you can watch, pause and repeat the video summary in our online live center on the day of the event from 19:00 CET onwards. Afterwards, join the live discussion via Zoom between 19:15 - 20:00 CET hosted by one member of the scientific organization and two renowned international panel experts.

Both active participants and listeners are welcome! Expand your professional knowledge and network by actively participating in the discussion or tune in to just listen after a long day to stay up to date. To participate, simply log into the Zoom conference under the “Breakouts” section in the online live center (below the video). 

If you cannot take part in the live discussion, there is the option of holding a Journal Club as usual with colleagues in the clinic, practice or at home whenever your time allows, using the permanently available video summary.
