Recent publications emphasize benefits of dual antibiotic loaded bone cement (ALBC) with antibiotic combinations in infection prevention. But how about the septic situation? Do we also have new insights here? What is standard and what can be improved?

In cooperation with PALACADEMY^®, the learning and knowledge platform for bone and joint surgery by Heraeus Medical, we present a multi-hub event, which takes a closer look at insights from the French experience. Experts from France discuss the “Rational use of (double) antibiotic loaded bone cement in revision” by sharing their own clinical data, summarizing existing evidence and discussing their concepts.

Why are antibiotic combinations necessary in septic situations and which combinations to choose? What is the benefit of targeted local antibiotic therapy, and when is broad-spectrum prophylaxis more effective? How to differentiate between superinfection and recurrent infection, and what is the best strategy to prevent re-revision? Are there special patient groups or procedures, where dual ALBC is recommended?

Die Post-Live-Version war von der Landesärztekammer Baden-Württemberg vom 14.09.2021-14.09.2022 zertifiziert. Während diesem Zeitpunkt konnten Sie 6 CME-Punkte erwerben.

AGA-Curriculum:
Teilnehmende am AGA-Curriculum können weiterhin 1,5 Theoriestunden im Modul 4 (Knie / Aufbaukurs Knieligamente) sammeln. Grundvoraussetzung für die Zertifizierung ist der digitale Nachweis der Online-Sitzungsteilnahme (erfolgt automatisch über die Winglet-Plattform) sowie die erfolgreiche Absolvierung der Lernerfolgskontrolle.
