Immerse yourself in the world of football performance analysis with The Use of GPS in Football - a comprehensive educational experience designed to strengthen your ability to collect, interpret, and apply player-tracking data in daily practice. Developed by Academia Clínicas Espregueira and Clínica Espregueira - FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, the course offers a unique opportunity to explore how GPS tracking systems and inertial measurement units can support evidence-based decision-making in modern football.
In today’s football, data-informed decision-making is no longer simply a competitive advantage - it has become a requirement. Demanding competition schedules and training sessions require players to perform close to the limits of their capabilities. In this context, GPS tracking systems have become essential tools for objectively monitoring physical demands, managing player load, supporting recovery, reducing injury risk, and informing return-to-training and return-to-play decisions.
However, access to technology alone is not enough. Practitioners must understand how to operate tracking equipment, collect reliable data, critically evaluate relevant metrics, and transform complex datasets into clear and actionable information. Through a practical and scientifically grounded learning approach, participants will also develop strategies for communicating findings effectively with performance, medical, technical, and coaching departments, as well as with the players themselves.
Join a multidisciplinary community of football professionals and learn from carefully selected experts with extensive academic, scientific, and practical experience. Across 52 hours of training, the course combines scientific rigor with hands-on application, helping participants make better use of GPS data and prepare for the emerging demands of Football 4.0.
