Periprosthetic joint infections are still one of the most challenging complications in arthroplasty. Patients at high risk for infection are more and more considered to be the key group, where PJI risk can and must be decreased.

In cooperation with PALACADEMY®, the learning and knowledge platform for bone and joint surgery by Heraeus Medical, we present a TV Event which asks “How can we improve PJI prevention? Avoiding infection with ALBC in high risk patients”. International experts from all over Europe share their experiences in case discussions and present their study data. Discuss with our experts: How can risk for infection be defined? How should high risk patients be treated? Which strategies are promising? What is the role of dual antibiotic-loaded bone cements?

The CME accredited online training is designed for specialists in orthopedic and trauma surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation. The training is certified by the State Medical Association Baden-Wuerttemberg. As of the event date, you will be able to complete the CME quiz for a period of 12 months and earn 6 CME credits.

Zum ersten Mal seit 37 Jahren gibt es keinen Kongress der AGA – Gesellschaft für Arthroskopie und Gelenkchirurgie. Zum eigentlichen Kongresstermin 17.-19. September 2020 findet nun das innovative Digital-Format „AGAnywhere. Virtual. Global. Local“ statt. Das Online-Event bietet auf hohem wissenschaftlichen und klinischen Niveau Fort- und Weiterbildungsinhalte zu den gewohnten Themenblöcken aus der Gelenkchirurgie und Arthroskopie.

Unter der wissenschaftlichen Leitung von Prof. Dr. med. Markus Scheibel, PD Dr. med. Peter Koch und Dipl. Sportwiss. Dr. med. Tomas Buchhorn werden an den drei Eventtagen jeweils zwei deutschsprachige sowie eine englischsprachige wissenschaftliche Sitzung präsentiert. Jeder Tag stellt dabei einen Gelenkbereich in den Fokus.

Alle drei Kongresstage wurden mit jeweils 6 CME-Punkten zertifiziert. Zusätzlich sind die Sitzungen für das AGA-Kurskurrikulum anerkannt. Die Fortbildung richtet sich an konservativ und operativ tätige Orthopäden und Unfallchirurgen, Sport- und Rehabilitationsmediziner, Physiotherapeuten sowie an Hausärzte und Allgemeinmediziner. As you may be aware, our annual AGA Congress had to be cancelled due to the current COVID-19 situation. However, we are delighted to announce our exciting new live TV programme.
