Arthroplasty, especially hip arthroplasty, is claimed to be among the most successful surgical procedures with outstanding outcome, standardized protocols and comprehensive data collection. But a closer look at the femoral stem fixation practice reveals that surgical decision making and patient selection is widely not as evidence based as expected and there might be the chance to further improve outcome.

In cooperation with PALACADEMY^®, the learning and knowledge platform for bone and joint surgery by Heraeus Medical, we take a deeper look at Current concepts in femoral stem fixation and the paradox in clinical practice. Status and experiences from the Netherlands. Moderated by Tim Boymans, Dirk Jan Moojen and Olivier Temmerman will discuss recent data and real-life cases.
